If a chandelier is dirty and filled with dust, grime and cobwebs, it is time to clean it before that special occasion arrives and when should you be in a hurry, you could cause some of the crystals to drop, or probably damage the fixture itself.
Mix up a solution made up of one part isopropyl alcohol and three parts water. Spray the solution on, then allow your crystal chandeliers to drip dry. Take off the sandwich bags when you are done with drying the crystals.
What to look out for: Just like in buying diamonds, you spot for one which shows clarity, purity, a fine cut and good color. Look for an absence of flaws and no inclusions, bubbles or rough spots. The surface must feel smooth, and the crystal shouldn't have a gray or green cast.
You can find chandeliers on antique shops, furniture shops and home depots. If you want to find a wider variety of chandeliers easier and faster, you can also search for them on online stores. Of course, as stated before, chandeliers, whether antique or not, are quite costly. But when you are being illuminated by its very elegance while you (and your guests) stare at it with awe, it is worth every cent. Crystal Chandeliers of world-class brands are of course more expensive than the chandeliers with relatively obscure names. You can ask experts or find online forums and reviews on Crystal Chandeliers (specifically the brand that you are considering) to find its pros and cons.
When homeowners are considering purchasing mini chandeliers, they may want to consider the following seven factors:
